Still I’m not really getting into the spirit of it, and I just don’t get certain design decisions Yamaha made on it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an extremely powerful and relatively easy to use device, it has a nice big screen and is really well built (love the white computer-key like buttons that give a nice clicking sound when pressed). Which was a major disappointment unfortunately. Third thing I got is Frank’s QY-300 sequencer.
Kawai midi patchbay mav 8 software#
I only have to sort out some software issues… the thing will go bezerk from time to time, acting like if someone would turn all the knobs at once. Won’t use it as a looper, since that’s not where it shines most, would be a pity to sacrifice a great delay to use it as a mediocred looper. I bought an Eventide TimeFactor, which is also a great pedal. This one is probably a keeper, though right now I just borrowed it from a friend. Works like a charm and is very intuitive to use. It has 4 tracks, pitch shifting (even with quantization on notes, intervals or octaves), reverse and midi-sync. Amazing device, very powerful and well thought out. I played around with an Electro Harminix 2880 Looper pedal. I got to test a couple of hardware devices in the process, but my experience is a mixed one. Now that I had some time to play around and experiment with different solutions I’ve come to the conclusion that this whole project of going computerless won’t work out for me.
